There are so many things to get excited about in the modern web. For example, I get excited about color systems and design tokens. I get excited about the best way to split content into categories and further down into HTML pages. I get excited about clever ways to calm busy layouts while keeping the information density high. I am excited about CSS’s @property feature as well as native HTML <dialog /> elements. I get excited about neat tricks in TypeScript like unions with ({} & string) for great developer experiences.
The modern web has changed everyday life. And AI is introducing another big shift in how things work. While I am skeptical about its wider societal implications, I am convinced we have to explore what is possible to make this work for the good of all of us.
With the team at Dinghy I believe I have the best partners by my side to do just that. Our skills complement each other’s and together we strive to make modern tech more human. One project at a time.

Motion graphics introduced me to “code”. Making images move was fun – and a lot of manual work. I soon realized that just a few lines of code could help tremendously with bringing to life static graphics. Even more, the code enabled the visuals to react to my inputs using the keyboard and mouse. Back when I learned this the web was still developing and the technology to do all this was limited and proprietary.
But it got me hooked and I explored various related lines of work. As a programmer in marketing agencies. As a studio designer for late night television shows. As a visual artist for large scale media facades. As part of an artist collective called Plex Noir I worked on experiential installations. With two of my best friends I launched a business for text message based scavenger hunts. 10 years ago the conversational interface was ahead of its time. By now planlos.in quiz tours have been played more than 20.000 times in 9 cities across Germany.
Over time I realized that I am most interested in the moments that shape the human experience when looking at, operating or playing with my work. I love to work on interactivity.
Those experiences led to the founding of Dinghy where I continue to explore how humans interact with design and technology. Learning more than ever. I’m eager to share some of these insights with you.
Feel free to get in touch ! I’d love to hear from you.
On a personal note, here are some things that I do when I’m not working at Dinghy:
- I do yoga everyday (because otherwise I don’t).
- I like to cook, sometimes (and dance in the kitchen when nobody is watching).
- I root for the small web (and browse personal blogs).
- I listen to music (from as many different genres as possible).
- I read up on space, the universe and everything.
