User Experience Concept for Podcast Production Studio
- Usability Testing
User Experience concept for a video podcast production studio. We leaned on analogies from established TV show production to make creators feel more at home.
Project Details
Duration | 8 Weeks |
Tools |
The project entailed creating a podcast production studio in the browser, which was professional enough for creators to be compelled by flexible features but easy enough to use without any dedicated onboarding or learning curve.
The team leaned on analogies from TV show production studios to define workflows inside the studio. So for example the producer
of the show wouldn’t necessarily have to be on stage
but could support the host
from the sidelines.
Objective & Solution
The challenge lay in aligning the different stakeholders — hosts, guests, and viewers — on a coherent timeline encompassing show planning, production, wrap-up, and delivery. The solution was a new UX concept consisting of three distinct layers, each tailored to its respective user group. This approach facilitated the production of visually appealing, professional shows while ensuring ease of use for all involved.
Project Outcomes
Full-Service Live Production
An all-in-one experience for creators to prepare, host, manage, and record shows within their browser.
Consistent Show-Branding
A system allowing creators to reuse visual assets and configurations, enhancing brand recognition for their channels.
Genre-Defining Interactions

The team helped us to collect early user feedback to validate our assumptions and deliver a solution that actually surpassed our customers expectations.
We collaborated with Dinghy on a new type of web application. We jointly mapped user needs and highly strategic concepts into a digital prototype.
